TWO homes in Little Chalfont were targeted in distraction burglaries by a man who claimed the houses needed repairs before he stole cash and jewellery.

Between 10.30am and 11.30am on Saturday, May 31, a man knocked at the two properties, telling the homeowner that they had cracked roof tiles which needed repairing.

In the Latimer Close burglary, the man entered the house and stole the victim’s handbag containing a wallet and cash.

In the burglary in Blackhorse Crescent, the man gained entry to the house and stole a brooch with gemstones in it.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10in, of a medium build and in his forties. He wore fluorescent yellow trousers and jacket and was seen driving a small white van.
