POLICE have launched an appeal for help in locating a man dubbed ‘Batman’ after a bank in Stokenchurch was robbed in December.

Two men allegedly assaulted two female members of staff at Lloyds and stole a substantial sum of cash from the safe during a raid at about 9.10am on December 9.

The pair fled the branch in Church Path, Stokenchurch, in separate vehicles, police said.

Thames Valley Police yesterday released these CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the robbery.

He is black and was wearing a black coat, black gloves, with a red postal-style bag.

He was also wearing a black peaked cap with a Batman logo on it.

Det Con Matt Kent said: “Do you know who Batman is?

“I would ask anyone who recognises the man depicted in the CCTV image to speak to police.

“The incident was carried out in broad daylight in Stokenchurch and left members of staff in the bank severely shaken.

“If you witnessed the incident in December and haven’t already spoken to the police, please call the non-emergency number on 101.”

The appeal was featured on BBC One's Crimewatch last night.
