HOMEOWNERS have been reassured by police officers after a series of burglaries in High Wycombe.

Officers believe the six incidents from yesterday may be linked and have told concerned residents everything is being done to bring the offenders to justice.

A number of items including jewellery, four laptops, a digital camera, Nook e-reader and purse were taken from a property in Queens Road between 8am and 5.50pm.

While in Louches Lane between 7am and 5.10pm a glass patio door was smashed before burglars stole jewellery.

Nothing was taken in a burglary in Kitchener Road between 12pm and 2pm after a back door was forced open.

But between 9.45am and 6.15pm in Coopers Rise, burglars took a laptop and alcohol after they gained entry by smashing a glass patio door.

And in Guinions Road between 12pm and 9.30pm tools were used on a French door, but nothing was taken, police confirmed.

There was also an attempted burglary in West Wycombe Road between 8.10am and 1.15pm.

One pane of a double-glazed side window was smashed and attempts to break in were made on a window and door.

Det Sgt Dan Tucker, who is investigating the incidents, said: “Having your home broken into is a violation of a person’s space, and is a particularly intrusive crime to go through.

“We would like to reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to bring to justice those involved.”
