A reward of £25,000 is being offered for help tracing the man who tried to rob a bank in Marlow this morning.
Police were called at 9.52am after a man tried to take cash from a security guard inside the branch of Lloyds on the High Street.
Officers said he was unsuccessful in his attempt, and now Lloyds are prepared to stump up the large sum in return for information about the crime.
A poster in the window of the branch confirms: “Robbery at this branch - A reward of up to £25,000 may be paid to any member of the public who provides information in relation to a serious crime against the Lloyds Banking Group.”
Shop staff working near the bank said they saw police swoop on the scene at around 10am and flank a blue security van parked outside the front of the branch.
After failing to get hold of the cash, the man fled, with no arrests made at the scene.
Police are urging anyone with information to call 101.
