CCTV images have been released after a 30-year-old man was left with “life-changing” injuries after a hit and run in High Wycombe last week.

The victim was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with injuries to his leg, back and face, after the collision near a BP petrol station in West Wycombe Road at about 7.15pm on Thursday.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop after the crash, which happened as the man was walking across a crossing, and continued to drive towards Wycombe Town centre.

West Wycombe Road was closed while Roads Policing officers investigated the circumstances was later re-opened at 10.25pm.

The vehicle shown in the CCTV image is believed to be a silver or grey Toyota Yaris.

Investigating officer PC Kevin Coady, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who recognises the car shown in the CCTV image or anyone with any information about the collision to please speak to police.

“The investigation in the cause of the collision is ongoing and I would like to trace the driver of the vehicle shown in the CCTV as they may be able to assist with enquiries.”
