More cars were targeted by vandals last night as the wave of destruction across High Wycombe in the last month resumed.

Police confirmed 10 vehicles were damaged on Dashwood Avenue, with glass littering the road after a row of parked cars had their windows smashed.

A 16-year-old “local boy” has been arrested in connection with these incidents and is currently in custody, said police.

The number of vehicles affected in the crime wave – which begun after the conclusion of the Habib Ullah inquest – now totals around 150 since March 2.

Police spokesman Lucy Billen said: “Thames Valley Police can confirm that there were 10 vehicles damaged in High Wycombe last night.

“Police will continue increased patrols and ask the public to be vigilant and contact us if they see anyone acting suspiciously around vehicles. They can call using 101 or in an emergency they can call 999.”

A video emerged on Facebook yesterday claiming to show the damage just after it occurred, with the shocked cameraman saying it had happened “in broad daylight”.

The stretch targeted was towards the western end of the street, near Castlefield woods.

Bucks Free Press:

On March 2, a jury returned a verdict of misadventure with narrative attached after a month-long inquest into the death of Mr Ullah, known as Paps, who died in police custody.

It is believed the vandalism flared because of the outcome, with previous incidents seeing cars scrawled with the letters NJNP – thought to stand for ‘No Justice No Peace’

However, no graffiti was visible with the latest attack.
