Detectives hunting the person who murdered a nurse in her home two decades ago, say they are pleased with the public response after announcing a fresh appeal for information in light of new DNA evidence.
The 51-year-old was found gagged, handcuffed and beaten to death in what was described as a brutal murder.
As well as appealing for information and witnesses, investigators said scientific advances have resulted in them discovering fresh DNA which could lead them to the killer.
Officers have also offered a £20,000 reward for information which leads to the conviction of the murderer.
This week, police spokesman James Williams said: “We have been pleased with the response but would still urge anyone that believes they may have information to get in contact with us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“The information we have received is being followed up.”
