A man has been charged with assaulting a police officer and criminal damage after a late night incident where a police van was headbutted and a used as a toilet.
David James, formerly of Crest Road, High Wycombe was arrested on Tuesday and charged yesterday with three counts of assaulting a constable in the execution of his or her duty and two counts of criminal damage to a police vehicle.
The charges relate to an incident on Tuesday between 12.30am and 1am at the YMCA in Crest Road, High Wycombe where a police vehicle was damaged when someone headbutted it.
Further damage was caused when a person defecated in a police vehicle whole being taken into custody.
Three police officers were also assaulted and spat at during the episode.
Mr James has been bailed to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on May 14.
