Former Wycombe Wanderers player Delroy Facey has today been jailed for two and a half years after being found guilty of bribery offences in relation to an investigation into match fixing.
Facey, who had a brief spell as a Chairboys player in 2008, was convicted of conspiracy to commit bribery by a Birmingham Crown Court jury earlier today.
It was claimed he attempted to fix the results of lower league matches in November 2013.
The 35-year-old was found guilty alongside his former Lincoln City team mate Moses Swaibu, who was sentenced to 16 months behind bars.
Prosecutors said Facey acted as the middle man in the conspiracy on behalf of two Singaporean businessmen, who attempted to rig the results of British football matches in order for their associates to win large sums of money on bets.
