A homeowner suffered a head injury and had a watch stolen after four men forced their way into his property in Prestwood.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, was assaulted by the men after they forced their way into his home in Wycombe Road at around 11pm on Thursday, May 28.

He also suffered grazes and bruises to his arms and chest during the assault, although he did not require hospital treatment.

A white gold Rolex day date watch, which had diamonds along the centre strap and bezel, was taken, as was the victim’s wallet containing cash and cards. Some boxed vehicle rear lights were also stolen.

After the break-in the offenders ran away along Wycombe Road towards the Polecat pub, before they got into a vehicle - believed to be a dark coloured hatchback - and left the scene travelling in the direction of High Wycombe.

Thames Valley Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward and have released descriptions of the four men involved.

The first man is in his mid thirties, white, 5ft 11ins and of stocky build. He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and top and a black balaclava.

The second offender is in his mid twenties, black, over 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a navy blue tracksuit bottoms and top, along with a black balaclava with a black beanie hat on top.

The third burglar is in his early twenties, black, 5ft 9ins and of slim build. The fourth man is described as being about 5ft 9ins and wearing a black balaclava.

Investigating officer PC Christopher Downs said: "I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident. I would also like to speak to a member of the public who found a set of discarded keys near to the Polecat public house."
