Detectives have confirmed they are continuing to investigate reports of criminal damage after it was revealed a plot to burgle the home of entertainer Cilla Black was foiled.

In a statement released to the press by her former publicist last week, it was revealed that her family have been forced to step-up security at the Denham home after a shocking burglary attempt.

A professionally-cut circular hole was reportedly discovered in the perimeter fence of the property following her death in Spain on August 1.

Thames Valley Police have now confirmed they are continuing an investigation after they were informed of criminal damage at a property in Tilehouse Lane.

Last Friday Cilla Black’s family described the news as "inconceivable”.
