A 20-year-old who left a policeman unconscious in a pool of blood is the younger brother of a man convicted of a murder in High Wycombe, the Bucks Free Press can reveal.

Aiden George, of Spearing Road, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm last week after punching PC Andy Smith unconscious in Castlefield, in what has been described as an “unjustifiable, unprovoked, nasty assault”.

His brother, Kieren George, was jailed in 2010 alongside two other men for being 'secondary parties' to murder after the killing of High Wycombe man Jourdan Griffiths.

Mr Griffiths, 20, died from a single stab wound in a High Wycombe squat on June 29, 2009.

Kieren George was convicted as a 17-year-old and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The prosecution said during the trial that Kieren George went to Buckinghamshire House along with Lotto Williams and Christopher Joseph – sentenced to 14 years and 15 years respectively – on White Hart Street to steal drugs and 'do violence'.

Mr Griffiths was stabbed when he opened the door, but the prosecution said they could not prove which of the three defendants used the knife.

The three were found guilty as 'secondary parties' to murder, which meant jurors decided they each knew that a knife would, or could, be used to kill or cause serious injury.

At the time, the victim's mother Moya Griffiths criticised the three defendants for not taking the witness stand during the trial.

Younger brother Aiden George is due to be sentenced for the crime on PC Smith on October 24 after he pleaded guilty last week.

Yesterday it was revealed that mobile phone footage filmed by an eye-witness of the attack the officer was key to police building an “overwhelming case” against Aiden.
