This is the face of a man detectives are searching for after a woman was sexually assaulted on The Rye, in High Wycombe, last month.

The victim, a woman in her twenties, was walking along a towpath at about 8.25am on Tuesday, September 22, when she was attacked by a passing cyclist.

Officers have now released an e-fit of the offender based on a description given by witnesses.

The offender is described as Asian, of medium build, around 5ft 10ins, with a black moustache and beard, and black hair.

He was wearing a navy hooded top with the hood up and dark tracksuit bottoms and trainers which looked loose-fitting. He was riding a dark coloured bicycle.

He had cycled passed the victim on the morning, but turned around and followed her before touching her inappropriately over her clothes.

Investigating officer, PC Alexandria Allman, said: “While this was obviously a very upsetting incident for the victim, this type of incident is rare in High Wycombe.

“We would urge anyone who was on or near the towpath on the morning of Tuesday 22 September and saw anything suspicious to contact police by calling 101.

In June, residents were left concerned after a series of exposures on The Rye.

Across just six days, four women reported being the victims of sexual offences in the area – with a man exposing himself to them all on each occasion, while also attempting to grab two of them.

It is not believed that the incidents in June are connected to the latest sex attack.
