A 24-year-old man sustained fractures to both wrists after he was thrown from his motorcycle during a hit-and-run in South Bucks on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred at 8.27pm the junction of Sandringham Court and Burnham Lane in Burnham.

Thames Valley Police say a red Honda 124cc was waiting to turn out of Sandringham Court when a dark coloured car - thought to be similar to an ‘old style’ Vauxhall Astra - turned into Sandringham Court and collided with the motorcycle.

The driver of the car did a U-turn in Sandringham Court and drove off in the direction of Burnham without stopping or checking on the condition of the motorcyclist.

Investigating officer PC Wayne Reece of Taplow Roads Policing department said: "This photograph of the motorcycle taken at the scene of the collision shows the significant damage inflicted by the collision.

"It is inconceivable that the other driver would not have known there had been a collision and it is also likely that the car would have suffered damage too."

Anyone with information should call on 101 and speak to PC Reece or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
