A 19-year-old from High Wycombe was convicted of GBH last week after stabbing a man multiple times and hiding from police in a loft for over a month.

Hamza Hussain of Gibbs Close, High Wycombe was convicted last Thursday (March 3) of one count of GBH wounding with intent.

The conviction is in relation to an incident in which a 24-year-old man was stabbed five times and sustained injuries to his back and side.

At around 2am on 16 July 2015 the victim was walking along Mendip Way, High Wycombe, when a VW Golf pulled up alongside him.

Hussain was sitting in the back of the car; he promptly got out of the vehicle and attacked his victim, stabbing him multiple times.

The 24-year-old victim was found collapsed in the street moments later.

After evading arrest by hiding in a loft, Hussain was arrested on 27 August 2015, and charged on 28 August 2015.

Hussain pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court, at a trial which started on Wednesday March 2 and will be sentenced at the same court at a date yet to be confirmed.

Investigating Officer, Det Con Emily Addison, of Force CID based at High Wycombe police station, said; "This was a vicious and unprovoked attack over a minor misunderstanding.

"The victim was very fortunate to make a full recovery and is extremely lucky that the wounds inflicting did not cause any lasting damage."
