A man was stabbed in the arm in High Wycombe last week - but it is not known how or where it happened.
Between April 5 and 6, a 21-year-old man suffered a stab wound, went to hospital for treatment and police were called.
It remains a mystery as to how he got the injury and police want to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard a fight in the town on April 5 or 6.
The man has since been discharged from hospital.
Anyone with information about the incident can call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
To give information anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
