A Good Samaritan was stabbed twice by robbers after stopping to assist with what he thought was a broken down car on a South Buckinghamshire road.

The victim was driving along Wood Lane, in Iver Heath, at about 11.30pm on Wednesday, April 6, when a woman flagged him down to help with her car, – a black Ford Focus – which had pulled over to one side and had its hazards light on.

After getting out of his silver Citroen the woman and a man approached him, demanding he handed over his wallet and phone.

A scuffle broke out between the two men before the victim got back in his car and drove away.

It was only when he reached home that the victim noticed blood on his shirt and discovered he had been stabbed twice in his abdomen.

He was taken to Wexham Park Hospital by members of his family where he received treatment and was later discharged.

PC Jeremy Carr, of CID in Chiltern and South Bucks, said: “I am appealing for witnesses who may have seen this incident to come forward.

“This is being treated as an isolated incident and I would like to reassure the community that a thorough investigation is underway to arrest those responsible.

“Medical staff have confirmed that the injuries sustained by the victim consisted of two superficial stab wounds to his abdomen.

Wood Lane, Iver Heath.

“His injuries would have been far more serious had he not been wearing a thick coat which appears to have protected him.”

He added: “We are reviewing CCTV as part of our investigation and we know that numerous vehicles drove past the scene of the incident which we are treating as an attempted robbery.

“I’m keen to speak to any of these passing motorists, who drove along Wood Lane in either direction between 11.30pm and 11.35pm on Wednesday night.

“I would also like to speak to any motorists who may have noticed the black Ford Focus either prior to the incident or afterwards, containing a man and woman.

“The victim also specifically recalls seeing an articulated lorry driving past at the time of the incident from the direction of the Red Lion public house. Again, I am keen to speak to this motorist.”

The woman who spoke to the victim is described as white, 5ft 5ins, with dark hair and spoke with an Eastern European accent. She wore a dark jacket.

The offender who assaulted the victim is white, 5ft 8ins to 10ins with short dark hair. He also spoke with an Eastern European accent.
