Two thugs who attacked a group of men at a car wash in Chesham last summer have been found guilty and handed prison sentences.

A fight broke out at the Cameron Road car wash on June 26 last year leaving three men injured, after Londoner Nathan Harewood, 25, and accomplice Nasarat Mahmood, 35, had travelled to the area.

Soon after arriving, the pair assaulted the three men, aged 27, 34 and 37, resulting in minor cuts and bruising to their faces, consistent with being struck by an object, police said.

Following the guilty verdict, Supt Yvette Hitch, LPA commander for Chiltern and South Bucks, said: "We are aware that this is a case that has caused concern within the local community and my officers have worked tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.

“I am pleased that these two men, who have strong links to Chesham, have been found guilty.

"For police to be able to bring offenders to justice, we rely on the local community to work in partnership with us. I can reassure anyone who witnesses a crime, or has any information linked to a crime, that they will be supported throughout a case by Thames Valley Police."

After being found guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court yesterday (Monday), Harewood was sentenced to 19 months in prison, while Mahmood, from Birmingham, was given an 18-month suspended sentence and ordered to carry out 150 hours’ community service.

A third man, Mohammed Asif, 36, of Gladstone Road, Chesham, was found not guilty of affray and ABH.
