A 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in High Wycombe in the early hours of Sunday morning.
At around 2.10am on November 13 the young woman was walking along Priory Road when she heard a rustling noise behind her.
She carried on walking along the road when she noticed a man close behind her.
The victim carried on walking up Amersham Hill and the man approached her, reached out and sexually assaulted her.
She screamed and the offender ran away down Terry Road.
He is described as a man in his 60s, 5ft 7ins to 5ft 9ins, possibly white or Asian and slim who was hunched over and appeared scruffy.
He was wearing a green coat with a hood which had a grey lining, dark coloured baggy trousers and white trainers.
Investigating officer PC Rachel Miller, based at High Wycombe police station, said: "Incidents of this nature are unusual in High Wycombe. We are investigating the circumstances and I would like to speak to anyone who may have driven or walked along Amersham Hill at around the time of the offence.
"I am also appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone who they believe to be the victim or the offender at any point during the night. If anyone has any information no matter how trivial it may seem please contact police."
Anyone who does not want to talk to the police directly can contact Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
