Three teenagers have been arrested after vandals allegedly targeted a war grave in High Wycombe.

The latest incident comes after a vandalism spree at the children’s cemetery in Benjamin Road – with the Bucks Free Press calling for councillors to act and put a stop to months of anguish for heartbroken parents on Friday.

A member of the public called police once again to the children’s section of High Wycombe Cemetery later that day at 4.40pm to reports of more criminal damage.

Officers attended the scene and found a grave had been damaged.

The Free Press understands the damage was caused to a war grave at the site.

Two 19-year-old men and one 18-year-old man, all from High Wycombe, were later arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage as part of the investigation.

Two of the men have been released on bail until March 28, and the other man has been released on bail until April 19.

A police operation is continuing at the cemetery following many other reports of vandalism in recent month.

The Free Press launched a campaign on Friday calling for Wycombe District Council to act – despite the authority claiming there have only been a “few” incidents reported.
