A teenage boy was injured after being assaulted by two men at a football match in Burnham at the weekend. 

The 15-year-old was playing football at an organised match at Burnham football ground on Sunday (March 5) between Burnham FC and Lambourn FC under 16s when a fight broke out. 

The boy, who was a player for Lambourn FC, was assaulted by two men and left with bruising to his chest and injuries to his face and leg. 

He was treated in hospital but has since been discharged. 

The attack happened in the second half of the match. 

PC Matt Styles, investigating officer said: "We would be keen to hear to anyone who was at the match and witnessed the altercation to contact us."
