Robbers threatened a man and woman with a knife before stealing a handbag and wallet in High Wycombe at the weekend.

On Sunday evening, between 7pm and 7.20pm, two men walked past a man and woman who were sat on a bench on the Rye near Keep Hill Drive.

The men then turned back and approached them from behind, with one of them pointing a knife at the victims and the other demanding they hand over their belongings.

The man without the knife grabbed the woman's white Guess handbag - which had a pink iPhone 6s plus and a bottle of perfume inside - and the other victim handed over his wallet.

The black leather wallet had bank and store cards and a national insurance card inside.

Both robbers ran away and fortunately no one was injured.

Both offenders are white, aged between 18 and 24 years old, approximately 5ft 9ins to 5ft 10ins and have black hair and dark eyes.

The first man was wearing a dark coloured sweatshirt with a hood and dark coloured jogging trousers and was carrying a JD Sports bag.

The second man was wearing a dark sweatshirt with no hood and dark coloured jogging trousers and was wearing dirty white trainers.

Investigating officer Police Constable Nico Aquino, based at High Wycombe police station, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the offence or who has any information which could assist the investigation.

"I would also like to speak to anyone who has been offered the property described as they may be able to help by providing information."
