Two men have been charged after a police officer was assaulted in High Wycombe last week.
Gareth Drummond, 34, of no fixed abode, was arrested yesterday (Monday) and charged earlier today with assault with intent to resist arrest, make use/attempt to make use of a firearm with intent to resist arrest and escape from lawful custody on August 30 and driving while disqualified on August 19.
Amos Bacchus, aged 46, of no fixed abode, was also arrested yesterday and charged today with assault with intent to resist arrest and make use/attempt to make use of a firearm with intent on August 30.
The arrests are in connection with an assault on an officer in West Wycombe Road between 6.45pm and 7pm on Wednesday (August 30) in which Captor spray was used.
The assault caused the officer to fall to the ground and he required hospital treatment.
Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Wycombe Magistrates' Court today.
