A man from High Wycombe has been jailed for rape.
John Kyeremeh, 29, of Desborough Road, has been sentenced to six years in prison at Amersham Law Courts on Friday.
Following a four day trial, he was found guilty of one count of rape and found not guilty of one count of sexual assault.
Kyeremeh met the victim, a 19-year-old woman, in High Wycombe in the early hours of Saturday, February 11. He offered to walk her to a taxi office so she could get home but instead took her to his property and raped her.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Nathan Davey said: “I would like to thank the victim for her bravery throughout the prosecution process. I am pleased for her that justice has been done.
“I would also like to thank the witnesses for coming forward and supporting our investigation and the subsequent court proceedings.
“I hope this sentence sends a message to victims and perpetrators that we take all reports of this nature extremely seriously and will investigate them thoroughly.”
Kyeremeh will also be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
