Armed police descended on a town yesterday (Monday) evening amid reports that a person had a weapon.

Eyewitnesses in Marlow said they saw between seven and eight police vehicles, and dozens of officers, including some armed, near the BP petrol station in Little Marlow Road.

Police confirmed they were called out at 4.25pm to a report of an altercation outside a property in the road, where a group of men were “threatening violence”.

Thames Valley Police said armed officers were also deployed to the scene as they had reason to believe from the initial report that a person – it is not known if they were male or female – was armed, but no weapons were found.

Officers attended and dispersed the group. No arrests were made.
