EIGHT people have been arrested after a 20-year-old man was found with a shot wound in his leg outside the Disraeli Arms pub in Wycombe Marsh earlier this evening.

The man was shot once in the lower leg and was found outside the pub in London Road at about 6pm. Police said it is not yet clear if the shooting took place at this location.

Police, including armed officers, were called to the scene by South Central Ambulance Service.

The victim’s condition is not life-threatening and he has been taken to hospital for treatment.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, there are road closures to protect the scene of the incident and allow for enquiries to continue.

Eight people have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the incident and have been taken into custody for questioning.

Deputy area commander ch insp Colin Seaton said: “This was a very unusual and concerning incident which we are treating as a targeted attack.

“We have already made eight arrests in connection with this inquiry and I want to reassure people that we will do all we can to investigate this crime and catch those responsible.

“The victim will need to undergo surgery as a result of his injuries but his condition is not life-threatening.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has information about who was responsible, to contact us as soon as possible.”
