COUNTY council leader David Shakespeare and his cabinet are expected to say "as you like it" and let library campaigners put together their own rescue packages.
And if all's well that ends well, it will be Cllr Shakespeare (no relation to the great Bard) who protestors have to thank.
This winter tale began when the council announced last year proposals to close eight community libraries in Bucks. Hundreds of people reacted to a public consultation on the proposals, and it now seems the council are to bow before the tempest.
Cllr Julia Wassell, county councillor for Micklefield, has been campaigning to save Micklefield Library, claiming to close it would be a comedy of errors.
She said: "I told David Shakespeare he should give people a chance. They have listened and this is a very good outcome.
"It empowers local communities to come up with their own local solutions."
Members of the Micklefield Library Action Group are now set to make a trip to county hall to cheer the cabinet's decision to grant the libraries a reprieve on January 23.
