Teddy Bears' Picnic concert comes to High Wycombe

11:23am Tuesday 20th January 2009

THE teddy bears' picnic is coming to High Wycombe this month, with children being encouraged to come along in bear outfits of their own.

Wycombe Sinfonia Orchestra is celebrating 101 years of the song in its annual family matinee on January 25, and prizes are to be given to the best dressed bears.

Conductor John Dunnett said: “Usually when we've had events like this we've had children come along dressed up. We hope that some will this year, to give it a real bear flavour.”

Tickets are still available for the one-off show to be held at John Hampden Grammar School, Marlow Hill.

It will include music by Smetana, Rimsky – Korsakov and Haydn.

Mr Dunnett said: “Last year’s show drew more than 300 visitors. Now we've got a regular following, which is great.”

Tickets available from Tourist Information Office in Pauls Row, High Wycombe, at the door. Or on 01494 512000
