A WINDOW depicting the links between a school in Birmingham and a school in Buckinghamshire has been unveiled.
Headmaster Paul New invited parents and guests to see the new dining room window at the Princes Risborough Primary School.
Year Five pupils from Princes Risborough and Cape Hill Primary School in Birmingham worked together as part of the Community Cohesion Window Project.
The window shows the similarities and differences in their communities.
The project’s team leader, deputy headteacher Ali Myburgh said: “What I wanted to achieve was that the children from our school share what is important to them about where they live and the symbols in our community that makes us different and unique from your community”.
The project was funded by the Princes Risborough Parent's Association and designer Elena Jackson volunteered her artistic talent, with the creative team at SignArt.
Miss Myburgh added: “The railway line figures prominently in the design. This shows the link between all our communities and how easy it is for one person from one community to link with a person from another community.
The buildings along the railway represent much of the multicultural diversity we face today in a modern Britain and how that impacts a rural community such as Princes Risborough.”
