Wycombe's Conservative MP told voters at the Bucks Free Press' hustings event that he want to set a “fair migration” policy.

Steve Baker said: “Some of the nicest people I know are first, second and third generation Brits. We have people in Wycombe from all over the world.”

He added: “If a grandmother from Pakistan wants to visit her new grandson in the UK she can’t, but someone from Spain can just nip over. It’s inhumane.”

However, the Conservative politician said the UK does need to “take control” of its borders.
