Wycombe voters split over election choice
VOTERS spoken to in High Wycombe today gave a mixed response to who they will vote for on May 6.
They were split between the Conservatives, Labour and Liberal Democrats.
Wycombe is regarded as a safe Conservative seat, having been in the party's hands since 1951.

He has NOTHING to say apart from slagging the other two off and then accusing them of doing the same. :))

Demoness - I am impressed - you posted your criticism of Cleggie at 9.03pm and the debate only started at 8.30pm and ended at 10.00pm. So you must have based your view on the first half hour of the debate?
If you look at the timing of my other comments you will see that I was consistent in my judgement.
Clegg had NOTHING useful to say. Tonight was all about Brown and Cameron with Clegg bleating the same old same old.

Who do I think should be leader? None of them, they should just work together and solve our problems in an adult way. "Oh no! A hung parliament representing the views of everybody! How terrible they aren't just representing me and the minority of people that voted them in!"
Everybody in the country should have their views represented in parliament.

You just know that IF Cameron scrapes into Downing St it will only be by a tiny margin and yet he will be so smug and victorious about it and won't give a 5hit about the majority of voters who don't want him to be PM.
None of the three leaders have the ability to lead our country on their own, but it seems to me that it is only Clegg that is humble and sensible enough to acknowledge this.

I agree salted peanuts - Nick Clegg is the only one who doesn't believe he has a God given right to be PM which is why he is the only one with the humility to suggest a cooperative approach between parties is the best approach. You just know that IF Cameron scrapes into Downing St it will only be by a tiny margin and yet he will be so smug and victorious about it and won't give a 5hit about the majority of voters who don't want him to be PM. Clegg came across like a smarmy used car salesman - all this making sure he used the questioner's name and making a big fuss about not hearing the question. Please don't tell me you were impressed by this shoddy salesperson technique.
His policies were up for scrutiny and he could not deliver. He was way outflanked by the other 2. Did you not notice DD telling him not to repeat himself?
Sorry but I am not prepared to put my precious vote to someone who really has about as much substance as a jelly.

One problem with these debates is that they have put too much focus on the party leaders and their style, which is always going to end up being a bit salesmanish.
Regardless of how they had come across I would still vote Lib Dem in Wycombe as they are the party who locally are most attentive to the views of the people. And after all the House of Commons is just that - the place where us "commoners" get our voice heard in government.
The worse thing about the Conservatives getting in would be that they are totally resistant to political reform and this election has done more to expose how rubbish our system is than how capable any particular party is of running the country.

I thankfully will not be voting in Wycombe anyway. I say thankfully because quite frankly none of the candidates are up to much.
BUT I do not like lib dem politics - believe me I have done nothing BUT study mainfestos for the last few weeks and hardly anything they are saying makes sense to me .
Having said that I would laugh like a drain if Baker was not to get one of the safest tory seats ever.
BUT I think what will happen is that he will scrape in with a reduced majority and then he will have to work like a wotsit to show his worth.
Lomas - waste of space and I think people are well aware of my opinion of Clegg.
Poor Wycombe - I don't live here anymore but you are still my home town and I do care what happens to you. :(

Do you know WHY I detest the lib dems so much?
Because of people like you and your lib dem cronies who just shove St Steve of Guy and his sycophant Wassell down our throats all the time.
You detest the tories - why are you allowed to without fear of censure?
Oh and BTW Clegg LIED about immigration but thankfully the other 2 were having none of it. They all lie to a degree but it was great to see the self righteous smug Clegg being made to sweat about it.
Clegg's frail card tower of popularity is crumbling.... couldn't happen to a nicer person. :)

Even going to the ballot box and spoiling your paper is a vote...a protest at the system.

If you want to understand what we get by voting Tory look at what Clarke an her cronies have done to High Wycombe --
Cut services to vulnerable people
Sell off our heritage
Spend money with wealthy cronies
No thanks im not voting for Cameron's lot !!

Why on earth do you think the whole bloody world revolves round Wycombe?
It is a dangerous thing to confuse local and national politics.
Oh and BTW your man of the people Clegg is as much a man of the people as my cat!
He went to public school, just like Cameron who is criticised for it.
How the hell can you say after almost 20 years that Cameron is like Thatcher?
Bloody typical of your crowd - scare mongerers and a manifesto that is like it's leader - full of hot air and no substance.
I expect Wassell will be off to the Tory party next week. :))

Unfortunately it doesn't tell you how many people have taken part so far which is a vital part of any survey. If it is too low you can't really make any judgement from it as results are not reliable
