RESIDENTS are being given the chance to tell the NHS in Bucks what they think of health services across the area.

The NHS Chiltern Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) – local doctors and their teams working together to ensure health needs in the area are met – invites patients to help shape future services by sharing their experiences.

During November four ‘Let’s Talk Health’ events are being held in Marlow, Chesham, High Wycombe and Burnham as part of Chiltern CCG’s on-going conversation with local people.

The CCG would like your feedback on:

• Primary care out-of-hours services –the services which take over when GP surgeries are closed.

• Urgent care – the range of community services available to you when you need immediate medical care but it’s not a life-threatening emergency.

The events will also discuss how new technology can best be used to improve care and make it more patient-centred – part of ‘A Call to Action’, a national campaign inviting NHS staff, patients and the public to have an open and honest debate about the future of the NHS.

Dr Annet Gamell, Chief Clinical Officer at Chiltern CCG said: "This is a great opportunity for people to tell us what works well and what could be better. We want to work with them on making improvements that will last for years to come."

NHS Chiltern Commissioning Group took on responsibility for buying healthcare services in south Buckinghamshire earlier this year as part of the Government’s NHS reforms which aim to put more control into the hands of patients, public and frontline staff.
