A-78-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with rape and four counts of indecent assault relating to historic incidents at hospitals in Bucks– including Stoke Mandeville.
The charges stem from the Metropolitan Police’s Operation Yewtree enquiry, which itself was sparked by revelations over the sexual abuse committed by disgraced DJ Jimmy Savile.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that Michael Salmon from Wood Green, Hampshire, was arrested on November 20 and charged the same day, following advice from Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service.
Police say the charges relate to incidents involving four victims from 1972 to 1985 at various hospitals in the Aylesbury area, including Stoke Mandeville.
He is bailed to appear at Aylesbury Magistrates’ Court on 17 December.
