ENTREPRENEURS and business owners in Chiltern District are invited to a Small Business event, themed 'Innovation in Hard Times' on Monday.

The free event, hosted by Chiltern District Council and run in partnership with Bucks Business First, aims to bring local business people together to share their knowledge and experience and ultimately, to boost the local economy.

Cllr Mike Stannard, Cabinet Member for Support Services, is chairing the evening, and introducing an impressive line-up of speakers - including senior Trinity Mirror group directors, Kim Chapman and Simon Edgley; Philippa Batting, managing director of Bucks Business First; Graham Winwright, planning consultant; Andy Garnett from the Garnett Foundation; Martin Parkes, co-founder of Better Chesham, local businessman and active in the Chesham Action Partnership and Rebecca Snook from Creative England, which promotes filming opportunities in the area.

Cllr Stannard said: "This event offers established businesses, as well as those just starting up, the chance to learn about the opportunities available which they can tap into, share good practice and find support during these challenging times."

The event is being held at Chiltern District Council, King George V Road, Amersham, opening at 4.30pm.
