A south Bucks MP will again call for a review of the controversial HS2 project today after securing an adjournment debate.

In one of the last few adjournment debates available before the House of Commons is dissolved ahead of the General Election, Cheryl Gillan will ask for the government to think again about progressing with the multi billion pound scheme.

The debate, which takes place on the same day a damning report from a House of Lords committee was published, will be held at Westminster Hall at 2.30pm.

Chesham and Amersham MP Mrs Gillan said: "To summarise, the business case is weak; for transparency, the costings need to be updated to 2015 prices; an integrated transport system must be a key goal; MPs must be given the details of the Major Projects Authority on the risks involved; the landscape must be given maximum protection; and those affected must receive the fullest and most generous compensation."
