TWO injured women were released by firefighters from a two car crash in Whielden Lane , Amersham.

One of the women was taken to hospital by Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.

Two fire crews from Amersham were called to the crash at 12.34pm on New Year's Eve.

A man, a woman and two children were released before they arrived and suffered minor injuries.

Station Manager John Bull from High Wycombe Fire Station who attended said: “Firefighters used two sets of cutting equipment, with a crew working on each car simultaneously.”

seems to be a lot of crashes at the moment, no gritting is the possible reason

Can't blame it all on not gritting - a lot of it is down to not adjusting speed/driving technique to suit the road conditions.

It's a straight bit of road, weather conditions were good, i drove by it about an hour after it happened and the road was fine. I suspect, as always, there's an element of driver error somewhere, accidents don't just happen by themselves.

i agree with Pennperson and Deepthinker....its a straight clear piece of road, it may not be down to lack of grit ... it could be a number of reasons why this incident took place....i know witnessed a crash some years ago, everyone on scene suspected a drunk driver, but because i am a trained door supervisor, with a modicum of medical knowledge relating to people behaviour, i asked the police to consider "diabetic shock" after paramedics attended, then a breathalyser it was concluded this was the cause...otherwise everyone would have been ready to lynch the poor bugger... so not all is always black an white

Appreciate all the comments meant in good faith. Also appreciate it can be difficult to not to make assumptions and it is hard for a friend of the family to read these comments.
That all said, the injured occupants of this vehicle and the driver are not blame. Seems those who caused it are still out there driving badly and probably still too fast. Let's hope they know they caused a family of five to all be injured and one very seriously indeed.
