COMMUNITY groups in the district are being invited to apply for a pot of funding worth more than £22,000.

The money is being offered to support groups and voluntary organisations in the South Bucks District Council region.

In the past, charities including The Child Bereavement Trust, The Alzheimer’s Society, and Padstones have received funding.

The subscriptions and donations grant is designed to help not for profit groups with their running costs so that they can continue to provide vital services and activities within the community.

SBDC Portfolio Holder for Community, Cllr Anita Cranmer, says: “We want this funding to go to those groups where money is an issue and where there is a real passion about supporting local services and projects in the district.”

Other groups who were given money from last year’s funding include Headway South Bucks, Bucks Vision, the Chiltern Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Careers Springboard and Berkshire East and South Bucks Women’s Aid.

If you would like to apply, more information is available on www.southbucks.gov.uk. To receive a paper copy application please contact The Partnerships Officer on 01895 837379 or email community@southbucks.gov.uk.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2015.

SBDC say grants will not be given to applicants wishing to use the funding to purchase equipment, or to put on one off events, such as village fetes.
