Pupils left their mark on a newly refurbished supermarket last week as it was announced 30 new jobs have been created following the changes.

The six month rejuvenation of the Sainsbury’s store in Maxwell Road is now complete, with the manager announcing it has been able to employ more people.

The children from Holtspur School were also invited to attend the reopening on Wednesday, November 26, after they were announced as the winners of a picture competition.

The two 10-year-olds, Harley and Ellie, joined a number of long-standing Sainsbury’s colleagues on the day and were then given a bag for life which there designs were emblazoned on.

The bags were also given out to about another 2000 people on the day.

In an attempt to update the store new food counters and an in-store bakery have been implemented and the car park has been refurbished.
