An award-winning environmentalist from Marlow has thrown his green hat into the political ring as it was announced he will stand for Parliament in May.
Professional ‘carbon coach’ Dave Hampton, who also presents a show on Marlow FM, will stand for the Green Party in this year's general election.
The Marlovian will stand for the Beaconsfield seat, currently held by Conservative Dominic Grieve, who took 61.1 per cent of the public vote in 2010.
Mr Hampton, a chartered environmentalist and chartered engineer, was recently honoured at the Sustainability Leaders Awards for his work advising firms and individuals about how to lower their carbon footprint.
He said he is “delighted” to be given the nod to stand for Westminster.
The Green Party’s previous Beaconsfield candidate, Jem Bailey, will now contest the Wycombe seat, with Gill Walker staking her claim for the Chesham and Amersham vote.
