A chartered engineer from Beaconsfield was awarded a CBE in the New Year’s Honours for services to construction and engineering.
Andrew Wyllie was given the honour after many successful years in the business which has seen him work all over the world, including Saudi Arabia, Ghana, the Falklands and Malaysia as well as in the UK.
As a chief executive at engineering and construction group Costain, he has helped transform the company into a Tier One engineering solutions provider.
He said: "I am deeply humbled to receive this award. It's a massive honour and huge testimony to the hard work of everyone at Costain, and a very good way to start a year in which Costain celebrates its 150th anniversary."
He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Institution of Civil Engineers and holds an MBA from the London Business School and is a non-executive director of Scottish Water.
