Staff and regulars at a bar and restaurant in Beaconsfield have been celebrating after the owners of the popular watering hole were named as one of the best companies to work for in the UK.

In a list drawn up by The Sunday Times, Oakman Inns and Restaurants Limited - the owners of The Beech House in Penn Road, Beaconsfield - were named in the top 100 and were given an “extraordinary” rating.

Following the result, staff have been celebrating and even took a ‘selfie’ to highlight their joy at the triumph (pictured).

Peter Borg-Neal, chief executive of Oakman Inns, is delighted with the result.

He said: “This is an amazing accolade and serves as a huge boost to the reputation of Oakman Inns and the 350-plus people in our team.

“Myself and my human resource team led by Linda Halliday and Jill Scatchard have always understood that people are our most important asset and we are hugely committed to engaging with our team and making Oakman a great place to work.”

The award was assessed over eight factors including leadership, wellbeing, and management, the team, giving something back, fair deal, the company and personal growth.
