Inspired residents will lay down the tracks for a better Beaconsfield this week by seeking the views of commuters outside the railway station.

This month the Vision for Beaconsfield Steering Group has been pushing harder to understand what people in the town want, ahead of drawing up a town plan for the future.

As well as speaking to people outside Beaconsfield Railway Station this week they also held an information desk in Sainsbury’s and have been in talks with businesses in the town.

The vice-chairman of the steering group, Mike Elliott, said: “So far we have had quite a bit of engagement and comments from local people and businesses via our online activity but we are very aware not everyone is online and so we are setting up some other ways to get people involved.

“Sainsbury’s and Chiltern Railways have kindly allowed us to use their premises to promote the project and this will let local people find out more, get involved and ask any questions they may have about the project.”

The project is aimed at delivering the new plan for Beaconsfield by the summer and the aim is to cover numerous topics such as parking, traffic, development and community facilities and open space plans. The plan is also going to be exploring some ‘blue sky’ plans for the town too, members said.

As well as handing out leaflets across the town they have also been promoting a survey.
