Television duo the Hairy Bikers popped in for a quick drink and a dance at a South Bucks pub last week as they filmed an episode of their latest programme.

Simon King and Dave Myers joined a group of Morris dancers to film scenes at The Royal Standard of England in Forty Green, near Beaconsfield.

Regulars and staff appeared to enjoy the visit of the chefs last Friday, watching as they laughed through their quickly learnt routine ahead of the release of their new series, Pubs that built Britain.

One of the pubs owners, Anna O’Keeffe, said: “The Hairy Bikers were the best visitors to the pub, they were full of fun, good humour and plenty of ad-libbing.

“They were such good sports and even had a go at the Morris dancing, they were good hour outside dancing and full of fun, it was a pleasure to look after them, and they still be welcome back anytime.”

Husband and landlord, Matthew O’Keeffe, added that the Hairy Bikers are the perfect pair to be in a pub, this made the day a wonderful experience and full of fun. I thought they'd never leave. This is the magic of atmosphere in a British pub.

The pub has not shied away from the spotlight in the past, with Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne even filming a number of scenes at the pub for hit-film The Theory of Everything.
