Residents are being urged to have their say on plans to move Holtspur Post Office 300 metres away from its current location.

The change is not yet signed, sealed and delivered, with a six-week consultation now open for people in Beaconsfield to discuss where the future of the business lies.

The Post Office has proposed to move the current Holtspur Top Lane store inside Londis in Mayflower Way, and increase opening hours as part of the switch.

The store would then be open 77 hours a week if the moves goes ahead, opening from 7am until 6pm Monday to Saturday, and from 8am to 12pm on a Sunday.

Regional Manager Will Russell said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Beaconsfield and we are confident this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments as part of a public consultation which runs to May 26, with a decision expected soon afterwards.

Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, via the Customer Helpline on 08457 22 33 44 or Textphone 08457 22 33 55.

Customers can also share their views in an online questionnaire at www.postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 06212899.

You can also tell the Bucks Free Press what you think about the move. Share your views by emailing andrew.colley@london.newsquest.co.uk or call 01494 755089.
