Issues close to the heart of people in the Beaconsfield constituency can be aired at a public meeting this month, as residents are invited to quiz the five parliamentary candidates standing in the General election.

Held two weeks before residents can cast their vote for the elections, the five candidates will all be given a chance to share their proposed plans and party policies.

MP of Beaconsfield for 18 years, Dominic Grieve, will be joined by representatives of the Liberal Democrats, Labour, Ukip and the Green party.

In 2010, Mr Grieve was voted in as Beaconsfield MP with a majority of 61.1 per cent, after receiving 32,053 votes.

The event will be hosted at the Beaconsfield School and the chairman of Churches Together in Beaconsfield, Revd Dr Jeremy Brooks, will lead the proceedings on the evening of Thursday, April 23.

He said: “I am delighted that all five of the declared candidates have agreed to attend.

“This year’s General election promises to be one in which some of the smaller parties will have a greater impact than in previous elections. “We have a great opportunity to question all the candidates on local and national issues.”

Any questions should be submitted before the event. You can submit these to rector@stmarysbeaconsfield.org.uk or post it to him at The Fitzwilliams Centre, Windsor End, Beaconsfield HP9 1NB.

The event will begin at 8pm at the Wattleton Road school.
