A CONTROVERSIAL supermarket in Bourne End could soon be opened after further additions were made to the front of the store.

The Tesco Express store, in The Parade, which was part of a long running planning process, was finally given permission to open earlier this year.

The supermarket originally planned to open on March 18, this year, but had to postpone after they were forced to apply for further planning permission after they made amendments to their original plan.

Some residents in the area had opposed the plans for the store with concerns raised in Wycombe District Council planning meetings over the access to the site.

With the latest additions to the store there is an expectation they could soon open.

A Tesco spokesman told the Bucks Free Press in August they expect to open in “late autumn, early winter of this year”.

The company have not yet confirmed an opening date.
