A woman was given oxygen after a kitchen fire was started when a cooking grill was turned up instead of off.
The fire started in a flat in Furlong Road, Bourne End, and two fire crews helped the woman who had suffered from the effects of breathing in smoked and helped to put out the blaze.
Firefighters used one hose reel, two sets of breathing apparatus, a positive pressure ventilation fan and a thermal imaging camera as they tackled the fire.
Bucks Fire and Rescue have not yet confirmed if the woman was taken to hospital or if the flat was badly damaged.
