New Wycombe District Council recycling calendars to go out

HOMES in Wycombe district will receive a new-look, annual recycling calendar from today.

The colour-coded calendars are a move away from previous calendars, which were delivered about three times a year.

Homes will also get a recycling guide which Wycombe District Council says ‘how to best use each of the recycling services available’. About two-thirds of homes will also now have both their green and black boxes collected on the same day.

The council said this has become possible because a new contract will start on March 15 with waste firm Veolia Environmental Services Limited, including split compartment vehicles.

Cllr Audrey Jones, cabinet member for wellbeing and neighbourhoods, said: “These new-look, annual calendars will make it easier for our residents to identify which date to put their recycling out for collection.

“Our residents have a great track record in recycling their household waste and I'm delighted that these service improvements will go a long way towards making recycling even easier.”

I have always found the Waste and Recycling Dept at WDC very helpful, and believe it or not very reliable, apart from the hic-cups in the bad weather, which to be honest was out of control.

This seems good, and will look forward in getting my copy.
Well done Waste and Recycling at WDC, keep up the good work, good start to the month.

Oh btw perhaps some of your colleagues and superiors should take a leaf out of your book.

How much paper did this consume?Recycling is not worth it. We are being conn'ed. Take plastic bags at the supermarket.....spar
e a thought for the people who make them; if we use less bags then we make the workers unemployed.
