Crime round-up: Fuel theft by van with stolen plates


REGISTRATION plates were stolen from a vehicle in Booker before being used on a white transit van as fuel was stolen from a garage.

Police said offenders stole the front and rear registration plates from a blue Renault vehicle, while parked in Alford Road, between 2pm and 6.15pm on Thursday.

The fuel was stolen from a garage on Holmers Farm Way at about 4.15pm.

The following crimes have also been reported in the south Buckinghamshire area:

Thieves smashed into a black Alfa Romeo in Hambleden at the weekend and stole a mobile phone. The offenders gained entry to the vehicle between 2pm on Saturday and 9am on Sunday and took the phone from the door compartment.

The rear offside wheel and tyre were stolen from a BMW lorry while it was parked in Wayside, High Wycombe, between 8pm on Thursday and 10am on Friday. The jack used to raise the vehicle was left behind by the offenders.

Thieves gained entry to a premise in Park Lane, Lane End, by removing a panel from the rear door between 10.30am and 5pm on Thursday. An untidy search was made of the premises and the stolen items included a television, laptop computer, games console and jewellery. A silver Ford Transit van, containing two males was seen in the area at about midday. No further details are known of the offenders or the vehicle.

Between 3.15pm on Thursday and 3pm on Friday offenders stole the front and rear registration plates from a white Vauxhall Astra, while it was parked in Shrimpton Road, Booker.

Overnight from Thursday to Friday offenders attempted to gain entry to a premise in Magpie Close, Flackwell Heath, by forcing the front door. No entry was gained, although damage was caused to the door frame.

Between 1pm and 1.20pm on Thursday offenders gained entry to a premise in Abbey Road, Well End, by forcing the rear door. An untidy search was made of the premises and two laptop computers, jewellery and vehicle keys were stolen, together with a white Range Rover estate. This vehicle was later found abandoned in the Hillingdon area of London.

At about 3.50am on Thursday offenders gained entry to a red Mazda estate by smashing the rear windscreen, while the vehicle was parked in a car park in Medmenham. A search was made of the boot and a silver Toshiba laptop stolen.

Between 6.45pm and 8.15pm on Wednesday offenders gained entry to a premise in Birchwood Close, Booker, by forcing a rear ground floor window, possibly using a garden spade taken from the garden shed. A tidy search was made and a Playstation PS3 games console, together with a number of games was stolen.
