Community news: Wooburn gears up for jubilee celebration
WOOBURN Green will have an afternoon of ‘quintessentially English festivities’ to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on Sunday, June 3. The entertainment from 12 - 4pm will include the Ellington Morris Dancers and lots of old fashioned games and stalls, ending with a traditional sing-along. The Residents’ Association, which is organising the event, have received generous sponsorship from Citygate VW Van Centre in Wooburn Green. Entry will be free, with the Wooburn Club open in case of bad weather.
PLANS to build seven new flats in Wooburn Green have been rejected by a council. Applicant Alexis Lockhart had proposed the demolition of Chiltern House, at 24 Wycombe Lane, to make way for the self-contained flats. The site is currently occupied by cleaning company Household Management Services, and the scheme was refused by Wycombe District Council partly because it would result in the "incremental loss of a scattered employment site".

Tickets are £9 adults and £7 concessions from Bourne End library, or call 01628 523291 or email: leigh@forum players.com
